Development begins on the microchip destined for animal testing
Our microelectronics team has started design work on the custom ICP nanochip that will power the first pre-clinical animal study.
This week we officially kicked off design and layout work on the custom CMOS microchip that sits at the heart of the ICP Monitor implantable interface. The chip will handle low-power sensing, on-die signal conditioning, and inductive telemetry to the external readout unit.
The first tape-out targets a form factor and power envelope compatible with our upcoming animal study in Leipzig. Every design choice — from the analog front-end to the encoding scheme — is being made with long-term biocompatibility and sub-mmHg fidelity in mind.
This milestone turns two years of architecture work into silicon and moves VicIT decisively from paper design into pre-clinical hardware.
